Qingming Shanghe Tu (清明上河图 ) is a famous Chinese painting from the Song Dynasty. It is long and horizontal, depicting a scene filled with characters and daily life along a river – a sort of “narrative panorama” filled with detail and figures.
This is a detail from the work by Chinese artist Zhong Tianbing, who, echoing the painting above, depicts the figures who have left their mark on Beijing’s Artists’ Village: here he depicts Dr. Zhang Meng and Marco.
